To Be, or Not To Be Fooled by Well-Chosen Words, and Deceiving Images

What is Al-Aqsa Storm?

The Al-Aqsa Storm is a wide-scale operation in Gaza that aims to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and release Palestinian prisoners held in capture by the illegitimate state of Israel. The operation is indeed a crucial role in responding to the ongoing Israelis injustices.

Be aware that this injustice persists as Israel’s repeated actions extend over the years, including recurrent incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem. Since 2007, Israel has engaged in four wars with Gaza, resulting in the tragic loss of thousands of Palestinian civilians. The besieged city has endured a 16-year blockade, severing vital services and supplies and confining Palestinian residents within the territory. Gaza suffers from contaminated drinking water, while Israel has restricted water access for Palestinians across occupied territories. Recently, Israeli forces poured cement into a water source supplying Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and dismantled pipelines.

Saleh al-Arouri, the leader of Hamas and the Al-Aqsa Storm operation urged Arab and Islamic nations to ‘take part’ in the Al-Aqsa Storm operation to encourage a united effort to ignite a movement in the West Bank and rally nations to engage in the battle. The word ‘take part’ is taken into consideration from different efforts, such as sharing information, spreading awareness, raising funds, medical contributions, and any other ways that may directly or indirectly support the Al-Aqsa Storm operation.

Where does Malaysia stand?

A leader’s words serve as a mirror reflecting the aspirations, values, and sentiments of a nation’s populace. Each utterance carries the weight of collective hopes and concerns. Speeches become anthems, echoing the pulse of a nation.

A leader‘s rhetoric is not just a tool of diplomacy, but a profound responsibility to accurately represent the voice and soul of the people.

“The international community continues to take one-sided measures regarding all forms of cruelty and oppression against the Palestinian people.

The Zionist forces persistently seized the land and property of the Palestinian citizens.

As a result of this injustice, hundreds of innocent lives become victims.

Malaysia remains in solidarity with the struggles of the Palestinian people.”

Malaysia’s leader, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasised Malaysia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian’s struggles. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim also censured the international community for their biassed stance on the issue of cruelty and oppression faced by Palestinians.

The Prime Minister’s response serves as the compass guiding a nation’s course. Through words and deeds, the Prime Minister inspires the collective spirit of Malaysians, igniting hope and ambition to be in support and ‘fighting’ with the Palestinians.

Narrations are made differently,

from different perspectives,

different beliefs,

and from different angles.

The narrations about the Al-Aqsa Storm are shaped by diverse lenses. Each account is a reflection of the chaos, pain, and resilience witnessed from different vantage points.

The Prime Minister said, “The international community continues to take one-sided measures regarding all forms of cruelty and oppression against the Palestinian people.” It is because most of the mainstream international media platforms have reported the Aqsa Storm as an offensive act towards the illegitimate state of Israel. These international media further influence these narratives. Ideologies, allegiances, and convictions mold the telling of war stories, adding layers of complexity.

However, the Palestinians rightfully held the legal claim to establish a peaceful state within the borders acknowledged by the international community before 1967, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital. Therefore, the Al-Aqsa Storm is indeed NOT an offensive act but truly, a defensive act by the Palestinians towards the Israelis that try to take over their place, their country, and their home.

Al-Aqsa Storm Narrations,

Well-Chosen Words and Deceiving Images by The international Community

BBC News (World) posted on X, 9 October 2023

Strikingly, BBC News (World) sought to mitigate the impact of the Israeli assault on Gaza by employing the term “died in Gaza”. This phrase wrongly implies a range of non-violent causes for the Palestinian victims’ being killed by the Israelis.

In contrast, BBC News (World) used ‘killed in Israel’ to depict Palestinians as ‘killers’, thereby distorting the reality that they are, in fact, safeguarding their homeland.

This choice of language underscores the influential role media can play in shaping public perception during complex geopolitical conflicts.

Well-chosen words possess the dual power to persuade and deceive. In persuasive narration, they artfully construct compelling arguments, appealing to logic, emotion, and values. These words serve as building blocks, crafting a convincing narrative that resonates with the audience’s beliefs and desires. However, in deceiving narration, the same linguistic finesse is employed to distort truth, masking ulterior motives.

Through clever manipulation, the narrative is skillfully crafted to mislead, obscuring facts and manipulating perceptions. It’s a delicate dance between influence and manipulation, where the line between truth and fabrication blurs. The art lies in discerning the intent behind the words and critically evaluating their veracity.

Deceiving images in persuasive narration wields a potent influence over perception. Crafted with precision, they manipulate visual cues to sway opinions and emotions. These images are carefully chosen to create a specific narrative, often amplifying certain aspects while omitting others. Through strategic framing, selective cropping, or even digital manipulation, they can distort reality to fit a desired agenda. This artful deception can be used to bolster arguments, evoke sympathy, or provoke outrage. However, it’s crucial for audiences to approach such visuals critically, recognizing that what they see may not always align with the complete truth. In this realm, a discerning eye is the ultimate defence against manipulation.

From different angles, the truth emerges.

An American actress initially shared a photo, believing the children depicted were Israeli. However, upon discovering they were Palestinian, she promptly removed the post. This incident highlights the importance of accurate information and the need for empathy and understanding in sensitive geopolitical contexts.

A Canadian singer posted an image with the caption ‘Praying for Israel,’ but the picture turned out to be of a damaged building in Gaza. This mix-up underscores the complexity of the Israel-Gaza conflict and the significance of accurate information in fostering understanding and empathy.
